Universum Eodem Map

Description

This is more or less just a love letter to all the series I grew up with/am still obsessed with. I've been working on this for quite a while, lol.
I've always been very fond of the concept of crossovers - even in real life, seeing interactions between animals that would never meet in the wild fascinates me, and music mashups just make me happy. Many of my favorite series in my childhood and adolescence, especially Super Smash Bros, had a crossover element, so I figured I might as well mash up all my favorites, cuz why not.

Faction Map: fav.me/dcgng82

This is heavily inspired by my good friend :iconamalgamation100:'s own map, seen here: fav.me/db0o0ox , although the basic ideas for this universe have been discussed between my friends and I back in High School, around 2015.

There were originally three different iterations of the Milky Way, one from Halo, one from Mass Effect, and one from Warhammer 40k, but I became so enamored with the idea that Amalgamation100 had of a single shared galaxy that I just had to implement it.

So, what is Universum Eodem?

Basically, mash together a shitton of fictional universes together. What, you want lore? K.

A god-like being named Tabuu, following in the footsteps of another being called the Beyonder, created a "Battleworld", a patchwork planet made of different pieces of numerous planets, in this case even alternate versions of the same one. For a while, he was content to observe the interactions between the introduced peoples, peaceful or not. But eventually, he grew bored, and once he was done, he ordered the armies of his realm, the Subspace Emissary, to absorb everything on the Battleworld into Subspace, as well as enslaving another, slightly weaker god-entity, Master Hand.

The denizens of the Battleworld fight back, and eventually manage to kill Tabuu. In his last moments, however, he pulls at the very fabric of time and space, causing a chaotic disruption in the universe. Luckily, numerous other god-like beings prevent it from becoming a multiversal calamity. One of the attracted entities, which existed in only two dimensions, found events going on in several galaxies nearby to be quite interesting, and placed them next to each other. The being was restrained by the others, but fearful of causing even more chaos, the god-like beings leave things as they were.

This warping of space and time would come to be known... as the Convergence.

TL;DR: Super Smash Bros. shenanigans happen. Gods interact, now several galaxies are arranged together very nearby each other.

So, before you ask:

Why are the galaxies arranged on the same plane even though space is 3-dimensional?
Did you not read above? A 2-dimensional god-like being found the events of these galaxies to be of interest and wanted to see what happened if they interacted, but has since been held back by the other gods. We'll say everything else in the universe has been unaffected, so only the Local Group has been changed.
Boom.

Why is the Star Wars galaxy called Skyriver, and why is it NGC 5463?
Because that's what the Nagai call it, and aside from that it's never been referred to as anything other than just "the galaxy." I found NGC 5463 while looking through Wikipedia's list of galaxy pictures taken by Hubble. I was having trouble finding one that was 120,000 light years across like the SW one, so I just chose a spiral galaxy without a known diameter.

Why Messier 106? And why is it called Tetra?
Well, in the SSB Ultimate World of Light opening, the galaxy that is shown in the Galeem explosion scene is, in fact, M106. As for the name, well, there's no actual name for it, and the Metroid series has a galaxy called the Tetra Galaxy, where the Alimbic Cluster is, so I thought why not make it that one?

Which years for each series does this take place?
For Halo, it's 2553. The war has just come to a close.
For Star Wars, it's 20 BBY, during the fiercest fighting of the Clone Wars.
For everything else - well, it's still 2553. The events of Mass Effect have already happened, (probably Destroy ending) so probably don't count on any non-Krogan or Asari characters showing up (if this is actually made into a story.)
(PENDING REWRITE)

What events in each galaxy did the god-like beings find interesting?
In the Milky Way, the activation and deactivation of the Halo Array sent a ripple in neural physics. For Skyriver, it's the death of the Ones of Mortis. In Andromeda, uhh (idk yet). In Triangulum, the destroyers Unicron and Galactus have engaged in battle. Finally, in Tetra, Tabuu's battleworld, since renamed the "World of Light", is, well, in Tetra.

Why aren't things to scale?
I TRIED MY BEST OK?

Why do you list planets instead of stars?
I figured it'd be easier to list the most important location (be it planet, moon, or space station) in each system rather than the star simply because that's much more esoteric lore. Most people don't know major fictional planets' stars, and a ton don't even HAVE named orbiting stars, soooo...

Is this part of the Amalgamation universe?
No, though it takes heavy inspiration from it. Unless Amalgamation100 wants it to be, that is, lol.
The main difference between this and Amalgamation is that this has a lot more of the fantasy elements from different series than Amalagamation does, though it is a bit...restrained. Think like the Marvel Cinematic Universe. There are magical/mystic things, but it's still a primarily semi-realistic version of these universes.

What relation do the godlike beings from different series have?
Some pantheons I guess are entirely unrelated, and others may be simple aspects of a greater being. Same goes for mystic objects, like, say, perhaps the Infinity Stones are derived from a Mythical Pokémon, so the Space Stone comes from Palkia, the Time Stone from Dialga, etc. Some can even be the same gods, but in different aspects, such as Palutena and Horakhty. Also, the Marvel and Star Wars Celestials are one and the same.

What happens with conflicting art styles?
Reimagine everything cartoony with a realistic way. Think somewhat like RJ Palmer's Pokémon art, though perhaps not quiiiiite there. Maybe somewhere between there and the designs in the Detective Pikachu film.

What continuity (if they have multiple) from each series does this belong to?
I mean, this is fanon, duh. But the primary bases for the major series are:
Star Wars: It's a mashup of Canon and Legends, but it's primarily Legends. In case of contradiction, Legends supercedes.
Marvel: Marvel Cinematic Universe. Mostly. It's not exactly Earth-199999, but it's quite similar.
DC Comics: DC Animated Universe. Though the timeline might be a bit different.
Transformers. Based from the Cybertron games, as well as Prime. So it'd be in the Uniend Continuity Family. Though there are some concepts from other 'verses.

What are all the series here?
Whoever can find and list them all get an internet high-five.

Will I ever actually write stories or anything for this?
Eh. Maybe? I'm so busy these days that I barely even have time for art as it is.

Where are the galaxy pics from?
To my knowledge, they're all pics taken from Hubble, which I got from Wikipedia, except the Milky Way, which I got from Amalgamation100. I believe it's some artist's depiction, since no space probe has left our galaxy yet.

Where'd you get the idea to zoom into the Orion Arm to show Human/ former Covenant space?
That's a brilliant idea by :iconthe-chronothaur: , who has his map here (which also influenced my own): www.deviantart.com/the-chronot…

If you've got any suggestions on anything else to add, be my guest.
